Gagne, when healthy, is a terrific player, but injury concerns plague him. Combine that with his no-trade clause and the Flyers cap problems and the best that Paul Holmgren could do was a 4th round pick and $2,700,000 in dead cap space that goes by the name of Matt Walker. Don't expect much more for Souray.

4 Vote(s)

It would also be very cool if the Oilers could find a Lee Fogolin type along the blue: a little older, say mid-20s, and possessing a 'heart and soul' attitude toward the game (Fogolin once took care of some dental problems with a coat hanger so he wouldn't miss any game action). Maybe Ryan Whitney is that player.

4 Vote(s)

Steve Tambellini had to wait another day to get a Tyler to go with his Taylor.
The Edmonton Oilers general manager kicked off the second round of the NHL draft by selecting prospect Tyler Pitlick on Saturday morning. Thwarted in his efforts to complete a deal that would allow him to draft both Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin a night earlier, Tambelllini was thrilled the Minnesota State centre fell to No. 31.

3 Vote(s)

I didn't think it would play out like this when Quinn was hired in May 2009 -- I called him the right man for the job -- but it was clear after talking to players this off-season there wasn't a fit.

4 Vote(s)

Penner's best attribute is his ability to cycle the puck down low, make good passes in confined areas and go to the net.
