The Washington Capitals have acquired enforcer D.J. King from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for prospect Stefan Della Rovere.

The 26-year old King did not register a point in 12 games with the Blues last season but picked up 33 penalty minutes. In 101 career NHL games the Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan native has four goals, five assists and 185 penalty minutes. Read More »

The Edmonton Oilers have given restricted free agent forward Gilbert Brule a two-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday.

Ice Edge Holdings spokesman Robert Johnson said in an e-mail to the Winnipeg Free Press they've been working with the City of Glendale for seven weeks to hammer out a deal to lease the arena that was built for the Coyotes in 2003.
